Prague Shakespeare Company donates to Philippines in honor of Pinay company member

In honor of its Filipina company member, Lily Chu, Prague Shakespeare Company (PSC) will donate all proceeds of its November 18 performance of "Cymbeline" to disaster relief operations in the Philippines after super typhoon Yolanda wreaked havoc in the coastal provinces of Samar and Leyte.

Lily, a familiar face in Filipino film, TV, and stage who moved to the Czech Republic a few years back is currently playing as one of the Storytellers in the theater company's farsical take on William Shakespeare's play of love, adventure, deceit, cross-dressing, poison, treachery and finally redemption. It tells the story of Innogen, an extraordinary young woman who will stop at nothing to prove her faithfulness and restore the ill-fated Cymbeline. The show runs until November 19, 2013 at Divadlo Kolowrat, Kolowratský palác
Prague, Czech Republic.

Lily Chu as one of the fantastic Storytellers

Lily says she is very grateful to PSC "for this wonderful idea, and for this generous choice! The victims of typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda will be very grateful, and it is such a wonderful way to utilize the arts for a cause such as this! So proud and happy to be part of such a wonderful company and to have a chance to do this for the Filipinos!"

The above is based on a post by Guy Roberts and PSC. For more information, visit the company's official website.
